Demolition software that
counts the recovery

Demolition pricing is not just cost. Scrap steel and crushed concrete offset it — but only if they are in the figures.

Asbestos comes first

Licensed asbestos removal must complete before mechanical demolition starts. Lead time is typically 2–4 weeks and it is a separate line on the quote, not a rolled-in allowance. PAI flags it on every demolition job.

Material recovery

Scrap steel runs £120–220 per tonne depending on the market, clean rebar at the top end. Crushed concrete sold on as 6F2 fetches £6–12 per tonne, or saves the same again on imported fill. Both offset the contract cost and both are routinely left out of the price.

Plant and attachments

High reach demolition rigs from £1,200 per day for a 40 tonne machine to £1,550 for a 60 tonne, plus mobilisation of £2,000–5,000. Concrete pulveriser £420 per day, selector grab £340, demolition shear and hydraulic breakers costed separately.

Typical pricing

Straightforward commercial demolition usually lands at £25–60 per m² of footprint, considerably more with asbestos, restricted access or party wall complications.

Straightforward commercial demolition typically runs £25–60 per square metre of footprint across the UK and Ireland. Asbestos, restricted access, party walls or structural complexity push it higher. Material recovery from scrap steel and crushed concrete offsets the cost.
